Interstate Dairy Queen Corporation has the exclusive development rights within ½ mile of the center line of many major interstate highways throughout the US. For a listing of our development territory by highway and state, click here. Please be aware that our development rights are subject to prior contractual obligations. Should your site not be within IDQC’s development territory, we’ll be glad to refer you to the appropriate sub-licensing authority.

SITES WITHIN TRAVEL CENTERS OR CONVENIENCE STORES

  • Grill & Chill®: We typically require 2000 square feet of space, with drive-thru capability.
  • Limited Menu Concept: We typically require 1500 square feet. While a drive-thru isn’t mandatory for the Limited Menu concept, it is strongly recommended due to the nature of highway business.

    We can often accommodate smaller areas if common rest rooms and/or seating areas are in place that meet our standards.

FREE-STANDING LOCATIONS:

  • Grill & Chill®: Minimum square footage is 2048, with a minimum lot size of 26,250 square feet and at least 105 feet of frontage.
  • Limited Menu Concept: Minimum square footage is 1797, with a minimum lot size of 20,000 square feet with 100 feet of frontage.

STRIP CENTER/MALL LOCATIONS:

Square footage requirements vary, depending upon concept and situation.
